A cold winters night, the perfect back drop for an underrated dessert. Hot chocolate gets no respect, but can make a very sophisticated dessert. My wife and I love to enjoy a mug while sitting on the couch watching a movie. That warming, rich, chocolate, creamy taste… Yum! Do you want your friends to remember your next dinner party? For dessert serve them some great hot chocolate. This no bake dessert will not only impress your guests, but it will allow
you to spend more time with them too. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not talking about powered hot chocolate mix that you might be use to. Not the stuff you add to hot water, ewww. Real hot chocolate is, real chocolate! A fine chocolate, maybe a little dark and with a high cocoa percentage added to some warm milk and topped
with some whipped cream. Now that’s what I’m talking about! If you want to spice it up you could add a little liquor, some tequila and peppermint cinnamon schnapps or Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur and Cointreau – a few possibilities. Now I could provide you with a recipe for the hot chocolate, but instead of shaving chocolate, lets keep it simple. Williams-Sonoma sells a really high quality hot chocolate mix. They have shaved the chocolate for you, no funky powder. For around $20 plus the cost of milk you will be enjoying and serving some crazy good hot chocolate in no time! Don’t forget the whipped
cream.

I agree! Hot chocolate sounds like the perfect dessert to
me. Thanks for the post!
Hey Erik, this looks delicious. While down here a month or so ago, Laura introduced me to a new way to do hot chocolate: add some chili pepper to give it some kick. It still tastes just like hot chocolate, but there’s a nice spicy aftertaste
